Review:
This first book is fantastic. It kept me on the edge of my seat, and it kept me wanting to read more.
Avah is such a great character. Danielle Rose does a great job creating a kick ass heroine who has some flaws and vulnerabilities without being a complete damsel in distress. I find that such an endearing quality for characters to have – there are still flawed people (or vampires in this case), but they rise above their fear when the time comes instead of hiding behind their love interest the entire time.
Speaking of love interests. Without spoiling too much, the love interest is yet another very well developed character. The love does come quickly, but it is described in such a compelling and beliveable way, that it never felt like the “insta love” nonsense we see in some books.
Overall, the characters were well developed and the plot moved at a quick pacs. The world building is great – I could see the places vividly in my imagination, and that’s one of my favorite parts about the book.
I definitely suggest if you enjoy paranormal romance, that you go pick up the kindle version of the Blood War trilogy quickly, while it is still on sale. It’s worth the time to read, I promise!
