As it Seems
It’s like a nightmare,
but you’re wide awake.
Holding on to what little
hope there is left today.
Faced with the prospect
of losing what has been
so wrongly taken for granted,
for so many years.
A burning ache deep
in the pit of your soul,
assures you it’s probably,
as bad as it seems.
