20 Questions Book Tag

Hi everyone!

A bit of an update on my pain situation. The pain management and physical therapy doctors have been the best and most understanding through this entire ordeal. They are the only ones who have said they would be able to help. It’s not the other specialists fault, because it wasn’t their area, but it’s so hard to keep hearing, “there’s nothing we can do for you.”

Anyway, I had my MRI the other day, which I was super nervous about (I can be claustrophobic), but it ended up being a piece of cake (I went in feet first, so my head wasn’t all the way in). It takes 3-5 days for those results, so that stinks, but we will see. I’m also scheduled for cortisone shots next week – hoping for some relief. I also have referrals out to three different rheumatologists, because I would like to be checked over for Fibromyalgia. It’s starting to feel like a real possibility.

Alright, that’s my long-winded update for you. On to today’s topic. 😊

1. How many books is too many in a series?

I don’t mind a long series, as long as there is a reason for each book. When it starts to feel like the plot is lacking, it’s time to end the series.

2. How do you feel about cliffhangers?

I don’t mind them, as long as the next book is definitely coming out. I HATE when stories go unfinished. This happens to me more often with TV shows, but it annoys me.

3. Hardback or Paperback?

Hardback to look at, paperback to read.

4. Favorite book?

Ugh. This question is too hard. I don’t really have an all time favorite, because, when I read something better than a book I loved before, it becomes my new favorite. My current favorite is The Savior’s Champion by Jenna Moreci.

5. Least Favorite book?

I have a dozen of these too, but one that comes to mind is, Evermore by Alyson Noel. It’s been a long time since I read this one, but I remember fricken hating it.

6. Love Triangles, yes or no?

They don’t rile me up as much as some people, but I don’t enjoy them. I think they are indicative of an unhealthy relationship, but there are much worse examples of unhealthy out there. This is not the one that concerns me most.

7. The most recent book you couldn’t finish?

I try really hard not to do this, because I don’t feel like I can review a book if I haven’t finished it. I’m honestly not sure what the last one was.

8. A book you’re currently reading?

I’m currently reading Heir of Ashes by Jina Bazzar, and a couple others for different blog tours. 😊

9. The last book you recommended to someone?

I always recommend Illuminae by Jay Kristoff and Aime Kaufman.

10. The oldest book you’ve read?

I’m going with the Bible for this question. 😊

11. Newest book you’ve read?

Father Figure by James J Cudney (which I will be reviewing soon on the tour!)

12. Favorite Author?

Like favorite books, I don’t really have a favorite author. There are quite a few that I would buy books from every time. Laini Talyor, Jenna Moreci, Jay Kristoff, Aime Kaufman, etc.

13. Buying books or borrowing books?

Buying. I want them on my shelf because I’m a book hoarder.

14. A book you dislike that everyone seems to love?

I’m not a fan of the Game of Thrones books or TV show. 🤤 I know, it’s weird coming from a fantasy lover but, the gore, incestuous relationships…I could go on, but I won’t for fear of offending. If it’s your cup of tea, great. 😊

15. Bookmarks or dog ears?

Bookmarks.

16. A book you can always re-read?

I’m not generally a re-reader to be honest, so I’m going with the Bible again.

17. Can you read while listening to music?

Much like when I’m writing, the music needs to just be instrumental.

18. One POV or multiple POVs? (POV = point of view)

No preference, as long as it is done well.

19. Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?

Lately I’ve been reading in one sitting, but that’s easier to do when you’re not at work. Generally, it takes me a couple of days.

20. A book you’ve read because of the cover?

I picked up Illuminae because of the cover (my favorite color is orange, haha.)

I tag anyone who wants to answer the questions. Just let me know if you do, because I’d love to read your answers.

Have a great day!

  1. I didn’t know you could do a mRI going feet first. I did mine head first, and i’m claustrophobic. it was a nightmare, and a few minutes in, i almost threw up.
and i like your answers (though it’s Bazzar, and Heir of Ashes). and i still haven’t picked the illuminae.

    1. Whoops! Correction made! I wrote this post early in the morning, and was clearly writing too fast. Thanks for letting me know!

I would have had a panic attack if I had gone in feet first so I hear you. I had no idea you could go feet first either, but when she said I could, I was happy.

      Thank you!

      1. They are going to try two cortisone shots in my back and one in my abdomen on Monday. Keeping my fingers crossed that it’ll help some. Any relief would be nice at this point.

      2. I hope it helps. I took a few shots – in the eye – but it was the oral that gave me the most relief, mostly because it distributed throughout my body. but i was on them non-stop for six years, and that’s not anything i wish on anyone.

      3. Thank you, me too. I was on some steroids a few years ago for migraine clusters. They stopped the migraines but I felt awful, so I can’t imagine what you went through. I’m hoping this won’t be terrible, but we will see.
