My Chronic Pain Journey: A Leap of Faith

Hi everyone!

If you’re a new reader to my blog, you may not be aware that I’ve been experiencing chronic pain for the last year. I’ve written quite a few posts about it, so if you’re curious about more updates, you can search through my blog and find them.

On Friday, I had an MRI of my back (finally), to rule out anything serious. As expected, the MRI came back normal, except that I do have swelling in my lower spine. Significant enough swelling to show on the MRI. My pain management doctor says doing spinal injections may help my back, abdomen and leg pain.

Before I do the injections, I’m taking a pretty big leap of faith. I’ve heard from many people that the Mayo Clinic has done some really amazing things for undiagnosed chronic pain. So, I’m headed to Phoenix, Arizona this Friday. I’m staying with my uncle. My appointment with the clinic is on Monday the 22nd. I booked a one-way ticket, because I don’t know how long I will be there.

We will see if this helps. I’m not sure, but I’m staying positive and praying maybe they will have an idea of what is going on. This has been an long year with no answers. If nothing else, it will be a nice little vacation.

Wish me luck. I’ll still be blogging. I’m part of some really great blog tours in the coming weeks, so I’ll still be around. I’ll keep you all posted as I learn more.

  3. Epidural steroid? If so, go for it… For some, a single injection would make you pain free… I will pray for you, honey. As per instructions, mail me when you can let me know. My prayers start from today!!!

    1. Yeah, I’m going to get it when I come home, just in case the Mayo clinic has some other idea of what’s going on. And I will! I’ll shoot you an email when I get out there and keep you posted. Thank you, love ❤
