Review:

Whoa. I am having a bit of a hard time writing this review. This book was fantastically written. A.M. Stirling leaves no stone un-turned in this novel. A trigger warning: it’s a story about sexual abuse and bullying. It is very graphic and there were parts I had a difficult time getting through.

Not at all for the faint of heart. The atmosphere of this novel is so dark, I could feel the novel taking me down. Though I never had any issues with sexual abuse, this was still very dark and scary. The pace was fantastic though, and I think if I could have read through the difficult parts, I would have been able to read this in one sitting…but I needed to set it down sometimes.

Overall, I did like some of the plot twits. There were lots of secrets, and we were slapped with the dark side of humanity. I personally wish there was a trigger warning somewhere in the book because I can see how this would cause issues with someone who had a similar experience. If you enjoy dark books, this is definitely a book for you.

    1. I had a hard time with this one too, but the writing was great, so I had to sort of figure out how to write the review. A tough one! I’m sorry it messed with you, my love. ❤
