Review:
The Winter Song by Saurav Dutt is a slow-burn, poignant tale of a man, John Perera, who sets out on a journey from Shimla to Spiti Valley to fulfill a promise he made to his wife before she passed away.
The writing is beautiful. During John’s journey, he reflects on themes of love, life, faith, family, etc, with memories, and it is all just so beautifully woven together. It is like a pilgrimage, and watching John through this journey was inspiring.
Raw and tender, and thrilling in a way you wouldn’t expect a slow burn novel to be. The hostile environment John finds himself in is very dangerous, and it gives the reader a little adrenaline in this story.
The Winter Song deserves nothing less than 5 stars. I highly recommend giving it a read.
