Review

Jexter Bladebrace & The Exalted Kingdom by Jamie Smartkins is a compelling YA Scif/Fantasy read. This is a relatively short read, so the action is fast paced from the beginning and kept a great pace throughout.

The characters are introduced quickly, and I’m happy to say they were each very well-developed. I especially enjoyed Jexter, but each character had a purpose and personality.

Because of the length, the world building is not as in-depth as I’m used to in fantasy/scifi novels, however, it is enough to let me see the world which is what I want.

The story took a different path than I expected, which made me enjoy it more. I do wish it had been a little bit longer so we could explore more of this really intriguing world, but overall, the story was great.

If you enjoy YA Fantasy/Scifi, I recommend giving this a shot.

Thanks to the author for the review copy. All opinions are my own and unbiased.
