Welcome to my spot on the tour for Sweet Vigilante by Jim Ody! Thank you to Zooloo’s Book Tours for the copy of this book and the opportunity to be on the tour. Be sure to let me know what you think in the comments.
The devil lurks in darkness to prey on the weak. Men become monsters. Crime is rampant.
Gina leads a simple life, quietly caring for an old man she calls Pops. But the night brings her to life.
When nightmares interrupt her sleep, she patrols the city to protect those the police can’t. She rules the night.
A familiar figure emerges from the shadows. Gina must return to the house she escaped to finally bury the demons. But someone watches her every move.
Evil has a face she knows and this time he wants her dead.
At this point, I think I can consider myself a fan of Jim Ody, since I’ve read quite a few of his novels. Sweet Vigilante is yet another absolutely gripping read from this author that I couldn’t set down. I never have any fear that I’m not going to love a novel by Jim Ody, and once again, I wasn’t let down!
Sweet Vigilante hooks you from page one, and takes hold of your brain. There is no putting this one down once you pick it up, so be aware of that before you start reading. I sat down, thinking I would read a few chapters, and the next thing I knew, I was finishing the last page. It’s thrilling and exciting, with the perfect pacing. There is so much depth and complexity, with layers of emotions. It’s just so good!
I love the main character, Gina. She is immediately likeable and relatable, and following her journey was the highlight of my day. She has quite the past and is such a well-rounded character, she really makes the book. I love a character driven novel, and that is what Jim Ody delivers here.
Absolutely fantastic and highly recommended.
Thank you to Zooloos Book Tours for the review copy and the opportunity to honestly review this book on the tour. All opinions are my own and unbiased.
Jim writes dark psychological/thrillers, Horror and YA books that have endings you won’t see
coming, and favours stories packed with wit. He has written over a dozen novels and many more short-stories spanning many genres.
Jim has a very strange sense of humour and is often considered a little odd. When not writing he will be found playing the drums, watching football and eating chocolate. He lives with his long-suffering wife, three beautiful children and two indignant cats in Swindon, Wiltshire UK.
